LASER VS LED: The Cold Hard Truth.
Laser has gained some attention recently for its use in cosmetic teeth whitening, but given the lack of regulation in the industry many of the claims are exaggerated or simply inaccurate.
Not to mention, many spas that claim “laser teeth whitening” are really using an “LED laser” when you read further (which is just an LED light. Not a laser.).
Actual laser whitening could be performed with a variety of types of laser (KTP, Diode, etc) all with varying efficacies and side effects. Diode lasers are more commonly found, but show mixed results in trials. Some studies have found them to have no significant difference from LED at all, while others have found them very slightly more effective but causing significantly more sensitivity.
The Truth: Light doesn’t do the heavy lifting—our peroxide gel formula does. The light is simply the catalyst. We use specific blue-range wavelengths to activate the formula efficiently, without the “laser” tax or the “laser” pain.
